About the Role

As part of the Services Team, the Operations Manager will be critical in growing and managing the Operations and Supply Chain (end-to-end) for some of the most progressive brands and paradigm-shifting companies in the space. The overall objective for the Operations Manager is to support the Services Team on executing key operational initiatives across multiple business units, setting a foundation for growth & success to our investments and clients. This position requires a self-starter and someone who thrives in an exciting fast paced and entrepreneurial environment.

Requirements

The Operations Manager must be capable of managing multiple projects & initiatives at once, while covering all aspects of food & beverage supply chain & operations. This individual thrives as a collaborative thinker, works well in teams, and has a high degree of emotional intelligence. We are looking for someone with experience in entrepreneurial environments and the flexibility to work in both highly-structured corporate settings and less-structured, start‐up environments. This individual should be comfortable reporting to and working with team members with different skill sets, areas of focus, diverse ways of thinking, backgrounds, and professional goals.


  • 2-4+ years of experience in a food manufacturing environment


  • Food and beverage experience with a passion and curiosity for startups; has an entrepreneurial mindset


  • Proven background with scaling the supply chain, procurement, production, and logistics of a complex system with co-manufacturers or self-manufactured infrastructure


  • History organizing transportation and distribution with co-manufacturers & third parties


  • Ability to forge strong relationships; ability to manage client relationships with a service-mindset


  • Overcome challenging obstacles, prioritize tasks, and pivot direction quickly as needed


  • Excellent critical thinking, can be pragmatic and tactical


  • Process oriented individual that has executive communication skills, strong attention to detail, and demonstrates curiosity and commitment to operational excellence


Responsibilites

  • Assist in first phase of commercialization, including product trials, pilot and launch timelines


  • Work to identify and setup supply chain for product launches


  • Use forecasts to determine in-stock levels and plan production as needed


  • Write purchase orders and procure all materials for scheduled production runs


  • Coordinate and manage warehouses & shipments to other warehouses


  • Monitor warehouse finished product inventory to fulfill sales orders and maintain sufficient product shelf life


  • Work to implement supply chain reporting


  • Understanding and ownership of Operational tools (MRP, ERP, Production Planning, S&OP)


  • Lead company/brand calls; interacts and advises companies in the area of expertise


  • Assist in contextualizing a company's/brand's goals into the work needed to move the company forward


  • Collaborate when needed with external agencies and other vendor parties


  • Manage partnerships with existing & contract manufacturer relationships
